FAQ & Tattoo Booking Information

Everything you need to know about getting tattooed at Thirteen Feet Tattoo – from pricing and deposits to aftercare and safety.

All of our studios – Newtown, Haymarket (Darling Square), and Circular Quay (Sydney Place) – offer high-quality body art tattooing for clients aged 18 and over. We do not provide body piercing or modifications.

To book a consultation or tattoo appointment, complete our online enquiry form. Consultations are free and help ensure your idea is the right fit. A deposit is required to secure a tattoo appointment, payable via the booking form.

Same-day bookings may be available – contact your preferred studio via phone, email, or Instagram DM. Reference images can be emailed to info@thirteenfeettattoo.com.

If you're travelling from interstate or overseas, we offer consults via email. Once your deposit is paid, we’ll send you a confirmation and booking invite.

  • Minimum charge: $150
  • Hourly rate: $220–$350 (varies by artist)
  • Flat day rate: Available for large-scale projects such as sleeves and back pieces
  • Payment method: Cash only. ATMs available in or near the studios.

All pricing is discussed during your consult based on size, style, placement, and time required.

We require a minimum of 48 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel your booking. Deposits are non-refundable as artists begin preparing artwork in advance.

If enough notice is given and artwork hasn't been started, deposits may be held for up to 12 months or transferred case-by-case. No-shows result in forfeiture of deposit.

Eat a good meal 1–4 hours beforehand. Stay hydrated and bring sugary snacks like fruit or lollies. Avoid alcohol or drugs. Keep skin clean and sun-free in the days before. Most importantly, relax and enjoy your time!

Yes – we are NSW Health Department licensed and inspected, and all artists are licensed professionals. Our studios follow strict hygiene practices including single-use needles, inks, and materials. We also hold a current NSW Tattoo Operators Licence.

Remove the plastic wrap 1–4 hours after your tattoo. Gently wash with warm water and unscented soap. Pat dry and apply a thin layer of aftercare cream like Inky Tattoo Salve or Bepanthen.

Repeat morning and night. Keep your tattoo clean, moisturised, and avoid scratching or tight clothing. Let it flake and scab naturally. Healing takes around 2–4 weeks.

Yes. Leave it on for 3–5 days unless irritation occurs or air/water gets underneath. Remove gently under warm water, then follow the standard aftercare routine.

Avoid swimming, baths, spas, saunas, direct sunlight, excessive sweating, shaving, waxing, and physical contact. Wear clean, loose-fitting clothing and don’t pick or scratch your tattoo. Avoid gym/sports for at least a few days if possible.

The sensation varies depending on placement and individual pain tolerance. Most describe it as a scratch or slight burn. Our artists will ensure you're comfortable throughout the process.

Walk-ins are welcome depending on artist availability. We recommend booking in advance, but feel free to stop by or call to check on same-day availability.
